Morning, folks!
Here's the latest from Clem Chambers, our resident expert on Apple's ups and downs in the stock market. Wondering what's causing the latest fluctuations in price? Clem's got the answer...he always does.
Mobile Market
The financial world is like the technology world: obsessed by news; acute reasons are seen as vastly dominant over chronic fundamentals.
So as Apple's price falls as the aerial story bounces around the media, it is obvious to point a finger at this issue as the cause of the drop. Likewise good profit figures will spark finger-pointing at any rise.
Constantly Changing
Yet when looked at in context and with reference to Apple's recent performance, sudden manic depressive swings in its share price have been an established pattern since May.
Bugs in iPhone's aerial and good figures will create price moves for Apple, but this is all part of a bigger process. The cause is simple: Apple's stock price is insupportably high.
What's Next?
Whilst Apple's share price has hit a ceiling, volatility, driven by uncertainty and fear, has crept into the price, creating the mood swings we are now seeing. It doesn't bode well for a future major rise.
